Moving, part deux

So, found out yesterday that our app at Chateau Village was approved. Lease signing and key pickup on Thursday. We don’t have enough stuff packed to move this weekend, so we’re going to shoot for the next weekend (Feb 12/13/14/15). Need more boxes. :/

Moving Update

A little background first: we decided last year that we weren’t going to renew our lease at Plumtree for a third year, and would be moving to Grand Rapids. In December Bart had an opportunity to get a job that would move us to Marshall, but we found out this week that he didn’t make the cut. So, on to GR it is.

I visited a few places on Tuesday, found two I really liked, and decided on Chateau Village today. Free Washer/Dryer in unit, free carport, and February free (so we can move anytime) pretty much sealed the deal for me. The bedrooms are a little smaller than what I saw at the other place I really liked (Glen Oaks East), but I think it will suit our needs fine. Eventually we hope to have a house, anyway.

We could be moving stuff as early as next weekend, provided our application is accepted. Rent will be a little more expensive than what we are paying now, (~$650/mo) but the W/D in unit makes up for that, since I won’t have to spend $100+ in quarters every month. The kitchen has more counterspace, which I am extremely happy about.

Yay, Bart gots a new job!

In Grand Rapids! So, its still a 2-hour daily commute, but he can sleep in his own bed every night! With me! Yay!! And he’s making more money! Double-Yay! And its in his degree field! Triple-Yay! AND.. its with the same company he currently works for! QUADRUPLE-YAY!!

Valentine’s Day!

Yay, look what Bart sent me (it was in a box on my desk when I got to work)

Chocolate Flowers

Playing Catch-up Again

Lots of stuff happened in the last 6 weeks or so – moved to Lansing and started working for LiquidWeb (perk, I got to be on local Lansing TV for a total of 1 to 1.5 secs – email me for the video). Moving was a pain, didn’t have enough time to get all our stuff down on one trip, so Bart ended up bringing most of the misc “stuff” down in carloads.
